“Our goal is to enable older professional artists to keep working and enriching the arts, and culture; to build community, and provide support.”
Sally Apfelbaum is the founder of Art Republic Space and an artist based in NYC, with an MFA from Tyler School of Art, and an M.P.H. (Master’s in Mental and Public Health Administration) from the University of Minnesota.
Her work is in collections internationally, and she has received several artist grants, including a 2022 NYSCA Individual Visual Artist Grant, several French Cultural Services grants, and the Giverny Award to live and work at Monet’s Garden. While in Normandy, she met Joan Mitchell, who became a friend and mentor.
